At Darlinghurst Academy, we believe every child deserves the opportunity to thrive. We work hard to create a welcoming and inclusive environment where children feel safe, valued, and confident to be themselves. Our aim is to help all pupils achieve their best, whatever their starting point, while also supporting their emotional health and overall wellbeing.
We use Pupil Premium funding carefully and responsibly, guided by trusted research, including recommendations from the Education Endowment Foundation (EEF), successful approaches from similar schools, and our own experience of what works best for our children. This funding helps us improve teaching in the classroom, offer extra academic support where it is needed most, and remove barriers that can prevent children from learning.
We support high-quality teaching by investing in staff training and professional development. Children who need extra help receive targeted support within their year groups, planned through our provision map. We also recognise that learning is affected by more than academic factors, so we provide support with attendance, wellbeing, and building positive relationships.
Our school priorities shape everything we do to support all children, including those who may be disadvantaged or vulnerable. Each year, we carefully review how our funding has been used and measure its impact using clear success criteria. We use a range of information, including school data, to ensure our support is effective and continues to meet the needs of our children.
Academy Priority 1 | Raise ambition for all children (particularly those with multiple vulnerabilities) accelerating progress. |
Academy Priority 2 | Tighten relational approaches (across the community) creating a uniformed response to need. |
Our Intended Outcomes for those in receipt of Pupil Premium are:
