The Chair of Governors – Megan Jenkins
I have been a member of the Darlinghurst Local Governing Body since 2019, acting as Chair for the past four years.
It has been my privilege to support the principal, Mrs Nicholls and her team as they continue to provide a wide range of education and extra-curricular opportunities for our children and the school community.
The Ofsted Inspection in January 2025 was recognition of the hard work and care that goes into our school, making it the vibrant setting we know and love.

Johan Zweistra
Vice Principal at Belfairs Academy and live in Havering and very proud to be a governor of Darlinghurst and to be associated with the Legra family.
I have had the privilege of working in different educational settings in different countries as teacher, leadership and school governance.
I have been a governor at Darlinghurst for the last 6 year sand seen our academy go from strength to strength and making sure that our young people obtain the skills required and strive for excellence to give them the best life chances.

Nicola Rock
I became a governor at Darlinghurst Academy because I was keen to have an active role in the school.
I have two boys at the academy and I think it’s a great place, I wanted to give something back and be involved in supporting the staff and children.
As a governor I’ve really enjoyed getting a better understanding of everything that goes on behind the scenes, and I’m pleased to be able to contribute to the continued success of the academy.

Dr Denise Bevan
I am a Clinical Psychologist and has lived in Leigh-on-sea for 11 years. I have two children at Darlinghurst Academy and have supported the school for many years initially as part of the PTA and now as Parent Governor. I look forward to bringing my expertise as a mental health professional to this role, to support the staff as well as the students.
